Absolute Resonance

Chapter 1026: Limit Breaking Heavenly Dew

When Li Luo walked into the main house, he could smell the thick fragrance of medicine wafting through the air. As he glanced around curiously, he noticed that the house was really s.p.a.cious, but a little messy. There were cabinets full of medicine placed in various locations, as well as elevated platforms that were several feet tall. Each platform held medicine cauldrons of different sizes. It seemed that there was a time where many alchemists had worked together here.

"If the Sacred Envoy is visiting the thatched cottage, you must be concerned about Divine Medicine, right?" the White Ape asked.

Li Luo was stunned. Sacred Envoy? Was he referring to him? What kind of status was that?

He was confused, but he did not show it on his face. The White Ape was definitely a special existence. Judging from the faint stench of a corpse that emanated from his body, he was likely no longer alive. Yet he had retained his sentience and intelligence. This had to be due to the special ability of the Spiritual Resonance Cave, just like the guardian spirit beasts earlier.

As such, Li Luo did not know if appearing fl.u.s.tered would arouse his suspicion. He simply smiled back at him confidently.

"Senior White Ape, how's the Divine Medicine coming along?" Li Luo asked as he acted out his role.

A troubled look appeared on the face of the White Ape. "The refining process is too hard. I've gone through countless failures, and now it is only a half-completed product."

Li Luo nodded but he did not ask any other questions about the Divine Medicine. He smiled widely and asked, "I have come here to collect medicine that will help with raising one's resonant grade. I wonder, is there anything prepared?"

The White Ape grinned. "Of course! The Spiritual Resonance Cave provides nearly half of the spirit liquids and purifying lights required by the sect."

Then he quickly walked over to a mysterious shelf that exuded cold air. He took out a jade object that looked like a honeycomb that radiated a mysterious light that circulated around it.

"There are hundreds of seventh-grade liquids and lights in here, as well as approximately thirty bottles of eighth-grade liquids and lights."

Li Luo was ecstatic as soon as he heard this. Hundreds of seventh-grade liquids and lights were worth hundreds of millions!

He was rich!

What a windfall!

However, just as Li Luo was feeling exuberant over it, the White Ape shook the honeycomb jade-like object a little and asked in confusion, "Eh? Where's the liquids and lights stored in it? Why are they all gone?"

Li Luo's face froze. He stared at the White Ape with resentful eyes.

What the heck was he doing?

However, it was probably within reason that all of the liquids and lights had disappeared because of the long time that had pa.s.sed. Everything had probably evaporated or dissipated into thin air.

On top of that, the White Ape was in a neither dead nor alive form, so he probably could not have looked after them properly.

Li Luo watched the White Ape still mumbling in confusion to himself, and because he was afraid that this would ruin the White Ape's relatively lucid state of mind, he quickly changed the conversation subject. "It's alright. The liquids and lights are not needed. Do you have other medicines with similar effects?"

Liquids and lights were ordinary objects that one used to raise their resonance grades. Nonetheless, there were special medicines with similar effects. These treasured medicines were usually easier to preserve as well.

The White Ape smiled and nodded. He continued walking forward and arrived at a dusty, jade chest. There were some archaic runes engraved upon it, giving off faint energy waves.

It seemed like the chest could only be unlocked with the appropriate method, almost like some kind of key. Energy flowed through the White Ape's palms before transforming into seals which landed upon the chest.

The runes around the jade chest gradually dissipated. In the end, it unlocked automatically with a click.

Li Luo hurried over to take a look. The jade chest was filled with a light-green liquid substance, and there were several jade bottles within.

The design of the jade bottles were exquisite, each one engraved with even more runic patterns. Clearly, the goods stored here were likely extraordinary.

The White Ape took out a jade bottle and pa.s.sed it over to Li Luo. "This jade bottle contains Limit Breaking Heavenly Dew, which is most suitable for improving the grade of one's resonance. If your resonance has reached the upper seventh-grade and is beginning to break into eighth-grade, you can use this to save a huge amount of liquids and lights and break through directly."

As Li Luo listened, his heart skipped a beat. It was especially challenging for a resonance to increase in grade. It was an enormous endeavor in terms of resources. Yet the Limit Breaking Heavenly Dew was able to provide a significant boost to the process. Its effect was truly astonishing.

In a certain sense, this dew was just like the spirit deposit functionality of his Violet Resonant Tree Brooch. However, its effects were certainly many times stronger.

If the outside world knew about such a thing, their eyes would turn red with envy.

"Can I use this to break through with an upper eighth-grade resonance?" Li Luo asked.

Although the breakthrough from seventh-grade to eighth-grade was considered amazing to ordinary folks, Li Luo was an exception. He possessed blank palaces and could endlessly temper his resonances as long as he had enough liquids and lights. It was only during the breakthrough from upper eighth-grade to ninth-grade that the amount he would require would be so abysmally large that it would be impossible to see the end of it.

Moreover, that jump to the next grade wasn't even considered a true ninth-grade either. It would just reach the pseudo ninth-grade!

The White Ape pondered for a moment before he replied, "The resources required for the breakthrough of an upper eighth-grade to a pseudo ninth-grade is extremely terrifying. Even with the Limit Breaking Heavenly Dew, it's unlikely. However, it can increase your success rate by thirty percent or so even if it can't help you achieve it immediately."

Li Luo nodded. That was already priceless.

This was amazing indeed.

Li Luo swallowed his saliva and asked, "May I take it with me?"

The White Ape grinned. "Ordinary individuals can only collect one medicine even after they have verified their ident.i.ty. However, there's naturally no restrictions for the Sacred Envoy."

Li Luo was elated.

Following this, the White Ape took out the other jade bottles from the jade chest and said, "You'll find Enlightenment Cores inside these jade bottles."

Li Luo's heart skipped a beat when he heard this name. "How are these related to the Origin Enlightenment Fruit?"

"Ah, these things are made from the cores of Origin Enlightenment Fruits. After all, we harvest ripened Origin Enlightenment Fruits every once in a while to brew the Divine Medicine. At times, there are Origin Enlightenment Fruits that fall short of the expected quality, so we transform them into Enlightenment Cores."

"These objects have a similar effect to the Origin Enlightenment Fruits. If it is refined, it can help one understand the origin of their resonances. It is an extremely valuable treasure for those under the Duke Stage. Moreover, the ones stored here are the best refined products. The inferior ones have been stored in the side room by me. Their effects will be weaker than those here," the White Ape explained.

Li Luo's heart was racing as he listened. He had came to the Spiritual Resonance Cave to increase his resonance grades and obtain an Origin Enlightenment Fruit. Although he couldn't get the actual fruit, these Enlightenment Cores were just as good.

"I'll give them all to you." The White Ape pushed all the jade bottles over to Li Luo.

With all these freebies, even the usually calm Li Luo was about to faint from happiness.

He thanked the White Ape and carefully put all the treasures away swiftly.

After this, the White Ape brought him to walk around the area. Some of the jade chests that they walked past had been cracked apart and the treasures inside were missing.

The White Ape felt exceptionally furious as he scolded out loud, waving his hands and legs in the air in anger.

Li Luo also shed some tears out of pity. All of this would have been his if they were still around. However, he kept his emotions in check whilst consoling the White Ape, in order to ensure he did not lose control of himself.

Just like this, the White Ape continued grumbling while he brought Li Luo to the central region of the main house.

This was where he saw a golden cauldron over a hundred feet tall, with fire surging from it.

The White Ape's face turned serious as he approached the golden cauldron.

Li Luo sensed this change in mood. His mind was slightly shaken as he asked, "Senior White Ape, what's this?"

There was a hint of fanaticism in the White Ape's eyes as he nodded slowly.

"This is the Divine Medicine that the sect has ordered me to refine. Who knows just how much resources and effort we've put into it...

"I named this Divine Medicine...

"The Divine Cultivation Serum!"

Li Luo coughed a little. "Divine Cultivation Serum? What big words. What can it do?"

The White Ape chuckled a little.

"Sacred Envoy, you have quite a few resonances in your body. The highest seems to be an eighth-grade, am I correct?"

"Just lower eighth-grade," Li Luo replied ashamedly.

"If you use the Divine Cultivation Serum, the lower eighth-grade... can leap ahead and be transformed into a ninth-grade!"

When the White Ape finished his sentence, his words boomed in Li Luo's ears like a thunderclap.

Li Luo's face froze up and he was left in a daze at this realization.
