Chapter 1042: Distribution
The crowd could finally relax when the energy vortexes formed in front of them. The dangers they had faced in the Spiritual Resonance Cave had far exceeded their imaginations. It was truly lucky that they had gotten out of this alive.
However, no one stepped into the energy vortexes to exit just yet. Their eyes all turned towards Li Luo and Qin Yi.
Mu Yao from the Golden Dragon Bank was the first one to speak out. He gave a dry cough and asked in a seemingly casual tone, "Hey, Fairy Qin. I've been wondering... just what sort of treasures did you obtain from the cottage? You mentioned that you'd share some with us earlier. Does your promise still hold up?"
As soon as his words came out, the many groups that had worked with the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qing earlier turned and looked at Qin Yi. Clearly, they wanted a share as well.
Qin Yi's eyes fluttered a little as she smiled gently in response. "Since I said I would, I will naturally give you all a share."
She waved the sleeves of her robes. She understood that all the teams that had joined hands with them had considerable backgrounds and strength. It would be unwise to offend them because of some petty gains.
Everyone was delighted when they heard Qin Yi's reply. Mu Yao also cupped his hands together towards her. He said with a smile, "Fairy Qin, you are truly a trustworthy person."
Qin Yi stretched out her jade-like hand, and three crystal-clear, gem-like objects appeared in her palm. Mysterious runes were engraved on their surfaces and esoteric energy fluctuations flowed within them.
Everyone's attention was immediately drawn over. They could sense the familiar energy fluctuations from the Origin Enlightenment Fruit in the three objects.
"These are the most valuable items that I managed to obtain. I a.s.sume they were refined from the Origin Enlightenment Fruit, so they should have a similar effect. However, I only have three of these precious treasures. Qin Ying and I will keep one each, as for the last one..." Qin Yi put two of them away, and the last one hovered in the air. There was a look of unease on her beautiful face.
"It should naturally be distributed based on everyone's contributions. I believe I am most worthy of it," Mu Yao said as he took a step forward. He waved the sleeves of his robes, and a stream of resonant power pulled the item over towards him. He had forcibly taken it away.
Some within the crowd were unhappy when they saw this, especially the people from the Devil Fire Hall. They had lost their leader and suffered significant losses. In the end, they had received no treasures at all, not even any dregs! It was no wonder they were furious.
Over at the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Zhao, they had also lost their leader, Zhao Yan. Although Zhao Shenjiang was more talented, he still fell short in terms of experience. He did not possess the charisma to lead his entire bloodline to compete with Mu Yao, so all he could do was watch on with a frown.
Not only did Mu Yao possess a strong backing, his strength was well recognized. Without Tian Miao and Zhao Yan to lead them, there was nothing they could do against his forceful methods. They could only glare angrily to show their dissatisfaction and displeasure.
Mu Yao naturally sensed their irritation and anger, but he was unaffected.
At this point, Qin Yi smiled gently as she continued, "There's no need to rush, everyone. Although I may have only found three of these Enlightenment Cores, I've managed to find other treasures as well. They may not match up, but it's better than nothing."
She lightly swiped her pocket sphere, and several b.a.l.l.s of lights flew out. On closer look, one could see black crystals fluctuating with energy hovering in the air.
"Take these instead. They serves as some form of compensation for your support to the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Qing." Qin Yi flicked her fingers, and the mysterious, black crystals flew towards the people from the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Zhao and the Devil Fire Hall.
Zhao Shenjiang and the rest quickly grabbed the black crystals that were given to them. Their faces lit up in delight as they sensed a hint of Origin Enlightenment Fruit energy within them.
Although the crystals were less potent when compared to the Enlightenment Cores, there was a significantly larger number of them. As such, it was a pleasant surprise for them to receive this reward.
"Thank you for your generosity, Fairy Qin. If you need any help in the future, feel free to ask and we will be there!" the crowd exclaimed in grat.i.tude.
Qin Yi had clearly won over the hearts of many with this single move. More importantly, they did not dare to voice out any further complaints even though they were unsure if this was the entire haul from the cottage. She had treated them kindly and even shared some of her gains. Besides, the treasures were obtained with her own capabilities and they had not contributed in any way.
She had already demonstrated her benevolence.
As the treasures were being distributed, another group of people watched on with eyes of envy. This included the people from the Heavenly Origin Ancient College and the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Zhu, who had chosen to remain neutral earlier.
Li Luo had managed to calm himself down after a period of time. He had watched Qin Yi's actions and understood her goals. This result left him feeling a little helpless. She was truly talented at being a troublemaker. If she had simply kept quiet, both of them could have kept all the goods to themselves.
Wasn't she pulling him down as well by doing this?
Eventually, rumors might spread and the others would harangue Li Luo, that he was a selfish gremlin, hogging all the rewards to himself. How would he have the face to remain in the Heavenly Origin Divine Continent in the future?
Li Luo shook his head as he thought about the possible consequences before coughing lightly, drawing everyone's attention over.
"Hehe, Dragon's Head Li Luo. Could it be that you wish to share some of the soup with us?" Li Guan from the Dragon's Scale Lineage said with smiling eyes.
The Dragon's Scale Lineage had been the closest ally to the Dragon's Fang Lineage throughout this expidition. They had worked together multiple times, so if Li Luo was planning to distribute some of the rewards, they were the most likely candidates to get something out of it.
The people from the other lineages looked over as well. However, those from the Dragon's Bone Lineage and the Dragon's Horn Lineage felt too embarra.s.sed to ask for anything. After all, they had been allied with the Dragon's Blood Lineage all this while.
Honestly, they hadn't gained much at all for helping the Dragon's Blood Lineage! No one spoke up, but doubts towards Li Wuyuan had surfaced deep in their hearts.
He had been a little useless as a leader!
As the people from those two lineages looked over, Li Wuyuan's face stiffened and he felt his frustration welling up. They were unhappy with him over a little reward? What sort of muppets were they?
Out of two things that Qin Yi had distributed, only the three Enlightenment Cores had any real value. How many could Li Luo possibly share with them now?
Just as Li Wuyuan was pondering over this, Li Luo took out a bunch of items. There were so many that brilliant light spilled out of his hands.
It was a handful of crystal-clear Enlightenment Cores that resembled perfect gems. They dazzled with an alluring l.u.s.ter in the sunlight, and a faint fragrance wafted out of them.
Everyone in the vicinity fell silent.
Li Fuling, Li Guan, and the people from the other lineages seemed to have choked on something. They stared at the cores in Li Luo's hands without batting an eyelid. They instantly recognized that they were similar to the cores that Qin Yi had taken out earlier. Moreover, the Enlightenment Cores from Li Luo were filled with even more life and energy. They were clearly of a higher quality!
Most importantly... Qin Yi only had three to share and distribute. Meanwhile, Li Luo had a handful of them!
If they could not sense the special fragrance coming from the Enlightenment Cores, they would have surely questioned if the ones Li Luo was holding were truly real.
This commotion immediately drew the attention of others too.
The people from the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Zhu and the Heavenly Origin Ancient College swallowed mouthfuls of saliva. They watched on with eyes full of jealousy.
The smiles on the faces of those on Qin Yi's side froze up. Just a moment ago, they felt that Qin Yi had been really generous. However, once Li Luo revealed his hand, it demonstrated the huge disparity in rewards between them.
Even Mu Yao's face turned green when he saw this. It was clear that the Enlightenment Core he had been given was of inferior quality compared to the ones in Li Luo's hand.
Some of them could not help but glare at Qin Yi suspiciously. They were clearly wondering if she had kept most of the treasures to herself while pa.s.sing on the dregs!
Facing their accusatory stares, Qin Yi's usually elegant and charming face turned a little solemn.
Her plump chest rose and fell repeatedly, a clear sign of the anger and resentment brewing within her. Although she had kept some treasures to herself, the three cores that she had taken out were truly the biggest rewards she had gotten. It was already a great sign of her sincerity to share and distribute the best items with them.
She had wanted to take more Enlightenment Cores with her. However, the White Ape had warned her that three was the limit. She could only give up no matter how unwilling she was...
Yet Li Luo had been allowed to take a handful of higher quality ones. Even with Qin Yi's temperament, she couldn't help but feel wronged.
"Why was this guy allowed to take so many? That ape was simply biased!"
